FAQs
How much yoga experience do I need before enrolling?
You don't need extensive experience at all. We recommend at least three months of consistent practice, but the most important qualities are curiosity, dedication, and willingness to learn. As a teacher you will be learning a very different approach to yoga, which means that what you'll be learning will be new to you, even if you have years of experience as a student. The intensive program moves quickly, so you need to be ready to fully engage, but prior experience is less important than your commitment to the process.
What styles of yoga will I be qualified to teach after graduation?
You will learn to teach Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, Anatomy & Alignment-Based, and Somatic Yoga. This makes you much more marketable than programs that focus on a single style. Shine Yoga (the yoga studio that Alchemy stems from) was one of the first studios in the region to teach multiple styles under one roof, and this comprehensive approach is reflected in our training.
I'm not sure if I want to teach yoga. Is this training still valuable?
Absolutely. About 50% of our students don't plan to teach when they enroll. The training provides valuable life skills, personal growth, and clarity that benefit participants regardless of whether they choose to teach afterward. As student testimonials demonstrate, many students find that their perspective on teaching evolves during the program, and they discover possibilities they hadn't previously considered.
Sara chose the name Alchemy for our Yoga School because no matter what graduates decide to do with their certification, the common thread is life transformation.
What is the schedule like? Will I have time for other commitments?
The training runs July 1-30, 2025, with classes Monday-Friday (10:30am-6:30pm) and Saturdays (12:00pm-5:00pm). Sundays are free. The program is designed to be immersive, so we recommend minimizing other commitments during this time to fully engage with the experience.
How soon can I start teaching after completing the program?
You can start teaching immediately after graduation. Our 90% teaching success rate reflects our commitment to preparing you thoroughly for teaching from day one. We offer post-graduation mentorship and internship opportunities to support your transition to teaching, and many studios in the area specifically seek out our graduates.
