FAQs from College & Graduate Students
Can I get academic credit for completing this yoga certification?
Some students have received academic credit for our program through their universities, particularly in departments like Physical Education, Health Sciences, Exercise Science, and Integrative Studies. We provide comprehensive documentation including curriculum details, contact hours, and learning objectives to support your credit request. You will need to consult with your university's academic advisors about their specific requirements.
Can I teach yoga professionally while still in school?
Absolutely! Many of our student graduates teach while completing their studies. Ideally, you'll want to start slow, teaching two to three classes per week, which requires only 1-2 hours of your time per class. This makes yoga teaching highly compatible with an academic schedule and significantly more flexible than most campus jobs.
Do I need extensive yoga experience before enrolling?
No. You don't need to have much experience at all. As a teacher, you'll be learning a very different approach to yoga, which means that what you'll be learning will be new to you, even if you have years of experience as a student. The intensive program moves quickly, so you need to be ready to fully engage, but the most important qualities are curiosity, dedication, and willingness to learn.
How will this complement my academic studies?
Beyond providing a potential part-time income, yoga teacher training develops numerous skills that enhance academic performance. Students report improved focus and concentration, better stress management (especially during exams), enhanced public speaking abilities for presentations, and improved time management. The mind-body practices can significantly improve your overall academic experience.
Will this fit into my summer break?
I know how precious your summers are, especially at your life stage. .The program is designed to be immersive but manageable within the month's timeframe. It will make your summer life-changing and still provide time to do other things that are important to you. The July 1-30 intensive format allows you to complete your certification long before the fall semester begins. This timing also enables you to potentially begin teaching in the fall semester if you choose.
