The medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. It was concerned particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold or to find a universal elixer.
You need yoga. The world needs you.
When I opened my studio, Shine Yoga, in 2015, all I knew was that yoga had guided me through recovery from stage 3 breast cancer and transformed my life in ways nothing else could.
During that time, I became more attuned to other people’s suffering—people in pain, overwhelmed, and disconnected from their potential. I realized that yoga could offer the same healing and transformation to others that it had given me.
And I thought, why not me?
So I opened a yoga studio and started teacher trainings.
A decade later, that suffering has deepened. My students come to me with grief, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and burnout.
We all need a path.
Every day at my studio, Shine Yoga, I see how powerfully yoga helps people reconnect with themselves and discover their innate capacity for healing.
Yoga is transformative
Alchemy, a division of Shine dedicated to deeper learning, is a response to our need for a guide, a path, a way forward and out.
For some of us, that path is through a deeper understanding of yoga. For me, teaching yoga was that transformative moment, and in the 17 years since my certification, maintaining my curiosity, knowledge, heart, and teacher community has kept me on that path.
